Clover Twist WGB, barn name: Clover. Clover was sired by the gorgeous Palomino stallion Twist A Ward who is by Peppy Smoking Gun. Grandsire was Poco Peppy Doc by Doc O'Lena. Twist A Ward's dam is by Skip Award who was Hank Weiscamp breeding. Twist A Ward's bloodline is a perfect blend of performance horses with the sensibility of the Weiscamp line and all his foals seem to possess these wonderful traits. Clover's dam, Clever Clover, by Bonito San, won many open cuttings and prize buckles for her owner Gayle Bear. We hope to be able to add Clever Clover to our brood mares next year and have another foal like Clover. One of the easiest horses to train, Clover Twist is smart and agile as a cat. She adores our Granddaughter, Paige, who was the first to "ride" her when Clover was 6 months old, and Paige 2 years old. Of course Daddy Jeff was close at hand to help if needed, but it was a love affair from the start between Clover and Paige. Clover was sold in September 04 to Will Webster who plans to do a lot of training with her in the same kind and gentle manner he used to train Freckles.

Twista Shooting Star, barn name "Star" Star is by Twist A Ward, the same sire of Candy and Dazzle above. We just can't get enough of his foals. As we awaited her arrival from Woody & Gayle Bear's ranch, we wondered if we'd like her as much as the previous three foals of Twist A Ward's we has purchased. Click here to see Star's pedigree. Star has turned out to be the fastest learner of all our foals. In no time at all without any fuss she learned to halter, lead, tie and cross tie. She tooks her shots without a flinch as well as wormer in the mouth. Her fabulous disposition, conformation and small head makes her one of our best fillies. Her dam, Floss Little Filly, is a Doc Floss daughter. Doc Floss has a Superior in cutting, Performance Register Of Merit, and 61.5 points in cutting. Doc Floss is a grandson of Poco Tivio. Floss Little Filly's dam is a granddaughter of Lightning Bar. Floss Little Filly's own cutting career ended when she badly injured her knee hitting the wall while being trained for the Snaffel Bit Futurity. Star arrived at our ranch on November 8, 2004. She was everything we'd hoped for and more. She has a most adorable small head, perfect conformation and black with 4 socks and a star (we believe she may be a black buckskin as she looked grulla when she was born). Gayle had her well halter broke and in great shape. She is just as sweet as her sisters Candy and Dazzle and they seem to remember one another. Thanks to Gayle and her friend, DJ, for transporting her here in perfect condition. Star was sold Jan 29, 2005 to Juan & Elizabeth Hermosillo from Livermore. They are new to the horse business and just bought a horse ranch complete with covered stalls and covered arena. They needed quality horses to fill the spaces so bought both Star and Skipper below. |

He is related to "Bozo", a 4 times world champion barrel racing horse. We can't wait to see him slicked off in spring. He'll be a golden buckskin with dapples with a gorgeous head and neck, short back and strong bone. He'll be 2 years old in April 2007. |

Smoothy In foal for 2007 by our Perlino Stallion, Trojan.
Sold: Dec 06
|
Smooth Blue Diamond barn name Smoothy Although our speciality is Palomino and Buckskin Quarter Horses, after we saw Smoothy for sale bred to a gorgeous 1999 PHBA Reserve World Champion Palomino AQHA Stallion, Days Tuff Gold, I had to investigate her. I had admired Days Tuff Gold standing at Rocking 40 Ranch for some time and planned to buy a colt from them to incorporate in our breeding program. Now, we would have our own, and it will be eligible for incentive funding to boot. Smoothy came from the RA Brown Ranch in Texas. They were awarded the AQHA Best of the Remuda Award for years of consistant quality breeding. Smoothy is one of ten living daughters from Zans Blue Diamond, purchased from Carol Rose in the later 1980's, who died on untimely death after only two breeding seasons. His pedigree include such greats as Zans Diamond Sun, Miss Fort Knox, Zan Parr Bar, and Diamonds Sparkle, also the dam of Shining Spark.
